Merry Christmas, everyone.
Christmas this year has really been the same as every other year. Seeing as my family doesn't really join in on the celebrations, we don't do much apart from head to a lunch one of our family friends hoold every year, and we are always invited. It's not brilliant, but its still nice and everyone there is really funny. I just don't feel like I fit in though, because I'm the only person there who is in high school whereas everyone else is either at university or has just left university and now has a job. But they're all very nice people so it's okay I guess. They pull jokes all the time and a couple of traditions have developed over the years.
One is that the son of the uncle [alright, curry people call their family friends either uncle or auntie even though there are no blood relations whatsoever. It's just how it works.] who invited us to his place pranks his dad. This pranking involves dialling the home phone, and waiting for the uncle to pick up and when he says "hello" no one responds.
Now the funny part of this is that while we don't respond, he continues to say "hello" over and over again in the most curry accent possible, which just sounds hilarious.
Now another tradition is that a dog MUST always be a guest at the party. Our friends enjoy taking care of neighbours' or friends' dog while they are on holiday. So every year for the last i-cannot-rememeber- years, there has always been a different dog present. This year we had Mortimer, the tank bulldog.
At 10 months old, he weighs 30kg and his head height is halfway up my thigh. He is huge for his age. He is also very fun. He bit me several times, but it's not really a bite, he just puts his mouth over your arm and leaves it there. And I kept on losing against him in tug of war. :(
Also, the auntie gives gifts to everyone. The presents have been getting stranger by the year though, this year I got a can of deoderant (a good one though) which I think says something about me.
I can't wait for next year.
Yeah, so that was my Christmas day.
I don't know what I'm doing on New Years Eve. My parents have given up on going to the city to watch the fireworks due to traffic.
What are you all doing on NYE?
[P.S. - Which channel is taking care of the NYE show this year?]
[P.P.S. - Post in my CBox - it's feeling lonely]
