Argh, typing with a band-aid on my left forefinger is hard work.
It sure it getting hot nowadays, isn't it? Summer is approaching. Although I think the flies its summer alread, judging by the amount of flies that are buzzing around these days.
Anyway, debating today was Epic. Yes. "Epic" with a capital E. That's how epic it was.
Topic: Australia is a country of imitators.
Teams (in order of speakers)
Affirmative
1. Jonny Wang
2. James Le
3. Andrew Choi
4. Jimmy Huang
Negative
1. Jason Koong
2. Bryan Ho
3. Deva Saxena
4. Delo Subaharan.
Yes. You can already tell which side one. :P
Highlights of this debate:
- James Le literally falling backwards from his chair after too much laughing
- Andrew Choi talking. (Yes, just talking. He hs a funny way of speaking [no offence intended]).
- Roger, Hugh, Amol and Peter putting up signs when James was talking. Somthing to do with a "Juggernaut" versing something. I don't know, I couldn't see the signs properly.
- The Negative side practically owning everything the Affirmative said.
And last but not least the best part of today's debate was......
[drumroll]
DEVA!
Yes, that's right. Deva. The debating king. You cannot beat Deva. End story.
He could have won the debate by himself. He gave 3 and a half minutes of pure rebuttal before he started on his prepared speech. He torched every single argument that the other side. You could just feel the verbal K.O. (oh and the verbal K.O. was invented by someone else last year) emanating from him. Good job, Deva.
Double Commerce was funny too. I just can't rememeber what made it funny. :S
The rest of the day was bleargh-worthy. Apart from lunch. Lunch was pretty awesome.
I think Monday is my favourite day of the week.
