Rise Against is a rock (I think) band. Better than any of the rap crap I used to listen to (apart from 2pac - he's legendary).
They are a pro-active group of musicians. If they feel that there's an issue in the world they think should be dealt with, they'll write a song about it.

There songs will often deal with issues such as animal cruelty (Ready to Fall), standing up for what you believe in (Behind Closed Doors), and picking the right choices in life (Survive).
We've all been sorry, we've all been hurt but how we survive is what makes who we are
They prefer to focus on the positive opposed to the negative as some bands do. This entire postivitness effect has caused a huge turnaround in my life. Makes me look at things more positively ;).
